Today, my church starts our 21 days of Prayer and Fasting.
First, it took me a while to get into the spirit. I truly feel like its been a while since I really heard His voice. I pray everyday and go to church on Sundays, but that fire for Him hasn't been burning as bright as of lately. After an hour of Worship, my heart felt heavy for Him.
Ephesians 4:22-24 22 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Right now, we are in the series of "Seek First" which comes from the verse Matthew 6:33 "To seek Gods Kingdom first and His righteousness and ALL these things with be added to you." So I asked myself today, "I know I love my Lord and Savior Jesus, but am I truly seeking His Kingdom?" What am I doing to be more like Him?
This past Sunday, My Pastor talked about resting with God. To take time out of the week to just rest and connect with him so that we can be refreshed, not just physically but spiritually. It's a game and life changer. Tonight, I just spent 2 hours worshipping God and just relishing in His presence. The more I rested in His presence, the more I learned more on how to put on a new self and be more like Him. I can no longer just put God first sometimes and then put Him in the backseat for a while. I pray that my life may never be too busy for God. That I will always have time for Him in the midst of everything. That my life may reflect Him. Lord, I will always seek You first, no matter what stage in life I am in.
I will seek Him first because He gave his only son to die for me. His love knows no bounds. God wants me to seek Him first because He wants the best for me. I'm his child. What Father or parent doesn't want the best for His children? I know God loves me and His Love will NEVER fail me. I will take more time in my life to rest in His Love and Spirit because I love Him and I want to know Him more.
